Situation

I worked as a Junior UI Designer in a team of two designers, focusing on the development of a mobile application for ordering food. Our main goal was to develop the design visually based on the low-fidelity mockups we had already created.

This mobile application is specifically created for dynamic and active individuals who are constantly on the move and make use of the most advanced technology available.

Task

My responsibility was to create screen designs that illustrated all user paths. The client needed a mobile app that highlights their products, ensures a smooth user experience, stands out from competitors, and aligns with their brand design.

Action

I had to design three moodboards to establish the project's visual direction. Afterwards, we created a detailed design system that encompassed all essential components to maintain a uniform appearance across each screen. This guaranteed visual consistency and simplified use for prospective customers.

Results

More than 120 screens have been meticulously designed to show the user's entire journey in the app, from registration and product selection, through various delivery options, to final order placement. We also preserved brand expression, which was one of the client's main requirements.

My reflections

I was fortunate enough to collaborate with a highly skilled and knowledgeable UI Designer. Through our partnership, I gained invaluable insights on how to work effectively with the product, identify critical elements, and establish a cohesive design system. Her expertise has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of UI design and has undoubtedly contributed to my growth in this field.
